The spirit of Manhattan in Scotland

We were commissioned, following the success of the Mour (formerly Dakota) Hotel in Nottingham, to develop Dakota’s second hotel at the Eurocentral Business Park on the outskirts of Glasgow, 20 minutes from the city centre and a 25-minute direct bus journey from the airport.

Connected to 46,000 square feet of serviced office, the hotel is similar to the Nottingham scheme (also designed by Rio). A glazed link housing the hotel’s meeting room suite connects the two buildings and acts as a buffer between the distinctly different ambiences of the two building types.

Dakota Eurocentral takes the modern spirit of Manhattan to the heart of Scotland, with 92 beautifully designed bedrooms and a brasserie-style bar & grill.

All bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and have ensuite bathrooms with rainfall power showers, high-speed Wi-Fi, and flatscreen TVs.

“What’s refreshing is the leap in standard between the average mid-market hotel chain and Dakota. It looks and feels like a 5-Star gaff, that bar is cleverly tacked on to a relaxed restaurant serving food you actually want to eat, adding up to a great all-round experience but without the over inflated price tag.”
