Laura

Laura is a Part I Architectural Assistant at Rio with a passion for vibrant cultures and the richness of diverse contexts. Her approach to architecture is characterised by a continuous dialogue between people, place, and material.

Passionate about learning and a self-described ‘student of life’, Laura combines a love for drawing and problem-solving with a strong belief in collaboration, experimentation, and growth within a global architectural community. For her, design is part of a personal journey of expression, discovery, and contribution.

Laura has experience in design development, technical drawing, 3D visualisation, site analysis, and collaborative practice. She has a particular interest in sustainable, socially conscious design, circular construction, and material innovation.

Laura is drawn to hands-on design processes, where ideas are explored through sketching, model making and making things by hand. She enjoys developing concepts from initial ideas through to detailed design, creating architecture that is thoughtful, responsive, and grounded.
